In light of the amazing 12-0 mark during the Sunday finals of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at Apex 2012, I took a closer look at what was in my database. There's about 500 games played, so it's still tiny compared to my beefy Super Street Fighter IV database, but the initial results are kind of startling.Game 1 winners ...
- win the match 81 percent of the time.
- win the next game 58 percent of the time.
- lose the next game 42 percent of the time.
My concern is that the percentage will go up as more major tournaments take place, and I'm not sure what can be done. Then again, everything could flip the other way tomorrow in Big Two #9 or at the next major, but is that likely to happen?
